Sodexo Partners With International Trade Union Federation to Promote Safety

March 22, 2021 Sodexo Partners With International Trade Union Federation to Promote Safety

Sodexo has agreed to a declaration of intent with the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tourism, Tobacco, and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF).

The international trade union federation and Sodexo will work together to raise awareness about worker safety and health, reinforce existing guidelines, and develop new initiatives across the food service and hospitality industries, Facilities Management Journal reports. Sodexo had previously partnered with the IUF in 2017 to address sexual harassment.

“The declaration of intent is a critical step towards collectively restating that ensuring our employees’ health and safety is pivotal to everything we do and the way we work at Sodexo,” said Denis Machuel, Sodexo CEO. ‘Together with the IUF, we are committed to partner with unions, employee representatives, and clients to raise the bar on health and safety standards and help drive improvements across the industry.”
