One organization will be selected to receive fully sponsored first-time CIMS Certification, valued at $7,500

In partnership with Kikkoman, ISSA is offering a special opportunity for one organization to receive fully sponsored first-time Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Certification, valued at $7,500.

Open to organizations new to CIMS Certification, the initiative will provide the selected organization with an opportunity to strengthen its management systems, improve operational consistency, and demonstrate its commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Developed specifically for the cleaning industry, CIMS is a comprehensive management standard designed for both building service contractors and organizations that manage cleaning operations in-house. Rather than prescribing specific products or cleaning procedures, CIMS provides a framework for developing effective management systems that support quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and healthier environments.

The standard addresses five core areas of management best practices:

• Quality Systems
• Service Delivery
• Human Resources
• Health, Safety, and Environmental Stewardship
• Management Commitment
• Green Building

The CIMS framework also incorporates best practices in cleaning, disinfection, hygiene management, and infection prevention, reflecting the expanding role cleaning organizations play in supporting the health and well-being of building occupants.

Earning CIMS Certification requires more than completing an application. Organizations review and document their management systems and processes and undergo a comprehensive assessment by an independent, ISSA-accredited third-party assessor. Certification demonstrates that an organization conforms to the requirements of the CIMS Standard and has systems in place to consistently deliver quality services.

For building service contractors, independent validation can help strengthen customer confidence and differentiate an organization in a competitive marketplace. For facility managers, CIMS provides a structured framework for evaluating operations, documenting processes, improving consistency, and demonstrating the value of the cleaning operation to organizational leadership.

Organizations interested in the opportunity can submit an entry beginning Sept. 14, 2026, and answer one question: How would CIMS Certification benefit your organization?

Following the close of the promotion, ISSA will evaluate eligible submissions using established selection criteria and select one organization to receive fully sponsored first-time CIMS Certification.

The opportunity is open to eligible organizations operating within the professional cleaning or facility solutions industries that are new to CIMS Certification. Organizations seeking CIMS Recertification are not eligible.

Entries must be submitted by Nov. 30, 2026. The selected organization will be notified by email by Dec. 11, 2026.
