- ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America 2011: The Start of Something BIG
September 1, 2011 — This year’s ISSA/INTERCLEAN® North America 2011 show promises to gather the industry’s top leaders in one location October 18-21 in Las Vegas, NV, offering attendees the potential to find new influential contacts and ideas that can change the way they do business.
The top leadership and technical advisors from more than 650 exhibitors will be on-hand to help attendees find the solutions they seek. In addition, the ISSA Convention—held in tandem with the exhibition—offers more than 40 educational sessions and networking events to help attendees gather the new ideas and make that next big business connection necessary to grow business.
Seminar topics at this year’s ISSA Convention range from finding future stars and proper branding to negotiation skills and infection control. One session will let the audience ask attendee favorite Michael Marks literally anything about everything in jansan distribution while industry legend Don Aslett will host a session where attendees will be paid, on the spot for their best ideas. In other sessions, Dr. Richard Shaughnessy will share lessons learned during the three-year ISSA research project to determine a Clean Standard for K-12 schools while Mary Miller, author of Dream Manager, will discuss how to reap the benefits of proper employee relations.
Attendees can visit www.yourissashow.com to submit questions for any seminar leader prior to the show to help ensure they get the answers they are looking for when they attend the live sessions.
Keynote speaker Tom Peters, an acclaimed business guru and author of In Search of Excellence and his newest hit, The Little BIG Things: 163 Ways to Pursue Excellence, also will tailor his address, presented Thursday, October 20, at 8:30 a.m., based on the previously submitted input of attendees.
New this year is the addition of a featured speaker each morning of the ISSA Convention and ISSA/INTERCLEAN exhibition. Tuesday kicks off with Vince Lombardi Jr., followed by Geek Squad founder Robert Stephens while Celebrity Apprentice and professional poker player Annie Duke will finish out the week on Friday morning.
The ISSA-TV Live Area also will provide valuable education presented by industry leaders, ISSA members, and alliance partners, right on the exhibit floor.
Then & Now
A new area in the exhibit hall this year is the Then & Now Product Showcase, which will feature the top innovative products presented by this year’s exhibitors. But that’s not all. The area also will feature a special display depicting the history of the industry and its work to protect health and provide value to customers through Don Aslett’s Museum of Clean, based in Pocatello, ID, which is bringing a whole host of items to remind us of how far the industry truly has come. Stop by Booth 161 to see the rich history of the industry mixed with the next generation of cleaning solutions.
ISSA is making it even easier for attendees to do business during the week with the addition of a meeting request option right in their ISSA/INTERCLEAN online registration dashboard. Forty-five days prior to the show, attendees can search for exhibitors or look up who will be there in a product category you are interested in, and send them a meeting request.
A new and improved mobile app also will be available to download 45 days before the show, offering customized planners, a GPS way finder that will literally show the best path to an exhibitor, the ability to capture contact information of other attendees and much more. Check back at www.issa.com/app to download the mobile app directly to your device.
Also, for the first time, the ISSA/INTERCLEAN Official Exhibit Directory is going mobile! The directory can be accessed from any smart phone, iPhone, iPad, or laptop right from the show. The technology automatically determines the right format for each device, assuring attendees can locate the event or exhibitor they want to see instantly!
To further help attendees conduct business while away from the office, a new Recharge Lounge also will be available on the show floor, offering phone and laptop recharging as well a location to grab a seat and catch up on e-mails. Free Wi-Fi also will be available throughout the exhibit hall and ISSA meeting rooms.
The Week to Network
The International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA), Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI), and the Association of Residential Cleaning Services (ARCSI) all will return with their annual conventions this year*.
Also, the World Federation of Building Service Contractors once again will host a special educational session within the ISSA Convention schedule. Plus a variety of distributor marketing groups also will be on-hand, hosting member events during the week.
And don’t forget: The ISSA Show Floor Happy Hour, starting at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, also provides a great chance for attendees to mingle and network as the Rat Pack performs at the ISSA-TV Live area, Booth 466.
With all of these opportunities in one location, ISSA promises to make this October 18-21 the one week cleaning professionals won’t want to miss. For more information on the event, visit www.issa.com/show or register at www.issa.com/register.
