ISSA Honors 2025 Advocates of the Year
ISSA is proud to announce the recipients of the fourth annual ISSA Advocate of the Year Awards. The awards were presented at the association’s 2025 Clean Advocacy Summit taking place in Washington D.C. March 31-April 1. Award recipients were selected by ISSA with input from its Government Affairs Advisory Committee.
The recipients of this new award are Jody Carroll, CEO of PowerX3 Cleaning Solutions and Raquel Carbonari, Brand Activation Director – North America at Tork, an Essity Brand.
“Jody was selected as the manufacturing recipient for being such an engaged and helpful supporter of ISSA’s legislative and regulatory affairs efforts. She has been an extremely impactful and engaged advocate for the industry. She never hesitates to ask what more she can do to help advance the industry. She is an inspirational leader who epitomizes this award,” said Nothdurft.
“Attending the Clean Advocacy Summit each year isn’t just a commitment—it’s a calling. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful our voices can be when we stand united and informed. Through ISSA, and now as the 2025 Advocate of the Year, I’ve proudly represented the cleaning industry and the resilient small businesses behind it. The relationships I’ve built at the local, state, and federal levels have turned conversations into policy, awareness into action, and helped elevate the vital role our industry plays in public health, safety, and economic development. Advocacy has opened doors—not only for PowerX3—but for countless other women-owned businesses striving to make a difference,” said Jody Carroll.

“Raquel has been a passionate and effective advocate for the industry since first attending the Clean Advocacy Summit in 2023. Her passionate advocacy for inclusive bathrooms and her support of the industry is inspiring,” said ISSA Director of Government Affairs John Nothdurft.
“I am deeply honored to have received one of the two Advocate of the Year awards. It is a true privilege to work for Essity and to represent the Tork brand. Being an advocate for clean has not only afforded me the opportunity to speak with members of the U.S. Congress about critical policy issues impacting our industry but, more importantly, it has allowed me to listen to the challenges and opportunities faced by the entire cleaning industry value chain. This experience has provided me with valuable insights into how we can continue to support our customers by addressing their needs and helping them achieve their goals,” said Raquel.
