Linda Lybert—Executive Director, Lead | Healthcare Surfaces Institute, ISSA Healthcare
Linda Lybert is a nationally recognized leader and advocate in healthcare environmental hygiene, with more than two decades of experience focused specifically on the science, safety, and performance of healthcare surfaces and their role in the spread of microbes that cause deadly infections. She has dedicated her career to advancing how surfaces are selected, incorporated into product and facility design, maintained, and validated to reduce risk and support infection prevention across care environments.
As founder and Executive Director of the Healthcare Surfaces Institute, a division of ISSA, and ISSA Healthcare Lead, Linda brings experts together to identify gaps and drive sustainable solutions to complex surface-related challenges—from materials and design to cleaning, disinfection, and testing. Through this work, she convenes environmental services leaders, infection preventionists, clinicians, manufacturers, regulators, and thought leaders to align products, processes, and people around evidence-based surface safety.
An international speaker and skilled moderator, Linda regularly presents at conferences and professional forums, shaping global conversations on healthcare surfaces, environmental hygiene, and the role of high-performing EVS programs in reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). She is known for her practical, systems-level approach and her commitment to advancing science-based, real-world solutions that improve patient safety and ultimately help save lives.
Dr. Omrana Pasha-Razzak—Academic Physician and Global Health Epidemiologist | City University of New York School of Medicine
Omrana Pasha-Razzak, MD, MBBS, MSPH, DABIM, is a Medical Professor of Community Health and Social Medicine at the CUNY School of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor of Internal Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine. A physician–epidemiologist and former department chair, she has led global and U.S.-based research on maternal and women’s health, occupational and environmental health, and health equity, with a particular focus on women low resource settings, including women in the cleaning workforce.
Nancy Schlossberg, BSN, RN, CGRN, CER. She has a broad background in clinical, programmatic, and business development of GI and Endoscopy service lines, with a special interest in endoscopy reprocessing and ensuring a safe, patient-ready scope for every procedure, every time. Mrs. Schlossberg served as the 2000-2001 president of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) and the 2019- 2020 president of the American Board Certification in Gastroenterology Nursing (ABCGN). In 2003 she received the SGNA Distinguished Service award, and in 2015 she received the SGNA Gabriel Schindler award for clinical excellence.
Barbara Strain—Independent Healthcare Value Consultant
Barbara Strain is an independent healthcare value consultant specializing in new, emerging, and disruptive technology and established medical modalities and is often a thought partner for provider hospital organizations to reimagine their value analysis programs. She spent more than 20 years as the Director of Value Management at the University of Virginia Health. Earlier in her 40-year career, she focused on clinical laboratory operations, microbiology, disinfection, sterilization, and infection control in provider hospital organizations. She is a founding member and past president of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP). Barbara is an inductee of the 2021 Bellwether League Foundation’s Hall of Fame for Healthcare Supply Chain Leadership and currently serves at its chairman.

Ken Bodie is President of Inspire, an Augmented Reality training platform for Building Service Contractors and In-House Service providers. He also serves as President of The Keller Group, a holding company with 11 companies spanning distribution, manufacturing, and software. Ken has more than 35 years of experience in the jan/san industry, including his long tenure leading Kelsan, Inc., a Southeast-based distributor. He is a past President of ISSA and a University of Tennessee graduate.

Richard Feczko—President | Elevate Innovation Group LLC
With over 37 years of support service leadership in healthcare, higher education as well as business and industry, Rich brings a wealth of experience in addition to expertise in these core service disciplines.
After attending Community College of Allegheny County and Penn State University, Rich’s professional career commenced, in parallel, in 1989 at Forbes Health System, now Allegheny Health Network before joining Morrison-Crothall Healthcare in 1991, later becoming Crothall Healthcare, followed by Compass One Healthcare. Rich held several leadership positions including various Site Management levels prior to overseeing Learning & Development followed by National responsibilities encompassing governance, innovation, business excellence, sustainability as well as non-clinical environmental & patient safety. Outside of the United States, Rich co-led global operational excellence strategies in 11 additional countries including, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, United Kingdom, France, Germany, India, Italy, New Zealand and UAE (Dubai).
After retiring from a successful career with Compass One, Rich joined Virtual Mgr in June 2022 supporting digital transformation strategies, operational excellence optimization, data trends analysis including elevating client labor efficiencies. Furthermore, Rich avails himself to practical expertise, together with engaging key business partners to maximize operational efficiencies, sustainability and value. Rich is also a member of the Virtual Mgr. Board of Directors.
In early 2024, Rich founded the consulting firm, Elevate Innovation Group LLC., providing expertise with several healthcare, education and commercial organizational clients related to governance, systematic lean applications, quality, sustainability, best-in-class innovation, as well as digital transformation including intelligent insights, validation & metrics.
In June 2025, Rich joined the HSI & ISSA Healthcare Advisory Council working closely with industry experts to add expertise and support to global healthcare cleaning compliance. Rich supports the oversight of the Innovation Task Force alongside industry experts, to assess capabilities in accordance with science, intelligence as well as governance.
Rich is known for high integrity, reliability, genuine humility, passion as well as enthusiasm for family, career and those close to him. Zeynep "Z" Ekeman—Managing Partner | Silver Defender
Zeynep “Z” Ekemen is the Founder and Inventor of Silver Defender, a U.S.-manufactured surface technology, and the creator of the “Surface Intelligence” category - continuous antimicrobial protection for high-touch environments. She developed the technology to solve one of healthcare’s biggest gaps: what happens between cleaning cycles. Her work focuses on redefining how surfaces perform in real-world conditions, helping facilities shift from reactive cleaning to continuous protection
Alice Brewer—Sr. Director, Clinical Affairs | PDI
Alice, MPH, CIC, CPHQ, FAPIC, has over 15 years of experience as an epidemiologist in both the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. She has a record of publications and presentations in the fields of infectious disease and epidemiological research methodology and has led programs and teams in the areas of regulatory affairs, surveillance, data analysis, and clinical research. As the head of Clinical Affairs at PDI, she is responsible for driving clinical strategy, evidence generation, and consulting on HAI reduction and Infection Prevention best practice in hospitals across the country. She previously served as the System Director of Infection Prevention for a large urban health system and a surveillance epidemiologist for a pharmaceutical company.
Alice earned a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, a master’s degree in Public Health Epidemiology, and is a PhD candidate in Health Sciences. She is certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology, as a Healthcare Quality Professional, and is a Fellow of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control. She is also an active member of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, the American College of Epidemiology, and the American Public Health Association.
Joanna Mills—RN, MSN, CNS, CIC, Director of Infection Prevention, John Muir Health, East Bay Area SF
Joanna is a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Infectious/Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Practitioner with extensive experience in Epidemiology, Program Management, Education, Performance Improvement, Risk Management, Public Health, Case Management, Employee Health, and Emergency/Critical Care.
Joanna is a seasoned professional with over thirty years of nursing and clinical infection prevention knowledge and practice in a variety of health care environments ranging from Ambulatory Care, Home Health, Long Term Care/Rehabilitation to Acute Care, Teaching, and professional organizations. She is also an active community and nursing leader and educator. She is an active APIC member and past chapter board president.
Sarah Wilkerson—System Executive Director | Providence Saint Joseph Health
Sarah Wilkerson, MN, RN, CIC, CNOR(E), FAPIC is the System Executive Director for Infectious Disease Management and Prevention at Providence Saint Joseph Health. She has been a nurse for over 16 years, starting her healthcare career in the operating room and working as a Perioperative Clinical Nurse Educator. She then transitioned into Infection Prevention, where she has worked for the last 11 years. She is Certified as a Perioperative Nurse and in Infection Control as well as a Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). She has experience in acute care, critical access, inpatient rehabilitation, surgical and long-term hospitals, and ambulatory care.
Sarah enjoys the challenges of the profession as well as teaching and mentoring new Infection Preventionists. She has a passion for special pathogen preparedness, standardization, and finding ways for teams to collaborate across different disciplines to care for their patients safely. She has been published in the American Journal of Infection Control, New England Journal of Medicine and Anesthesia and Analgesia. She is a Past-President in her local APIC chapter and remains active on its board.
Iris Lubar—Director of Healthcare Operations | Aramark Healthcare
Iris Lubar is a nationally recognized leader in healthcare environmental services, with over 25 years of experience in hospital EVS operations, infection prevention, compliance, and strategic partnerships.The former Director of Strategic Accounts – Healthcare at KBS, she lead national client relationships across health systems, outpatient centers, and clinics—driving excellence in cleaning performance, survey readiness, and patient-centered outcomes. She is now the District Manager for Aramark Healthcare+.
Iris is a passionate advocate for the frontline workforce and a vocal champion of industry standards, training, and sustainability. She serves as the Delaware State Advocate for ISSA and is a frequent speaker at industry events and panels.
In addition to her operational leadership, Iris is a published author and thought leader. Her work has appeared in Infection Control Today, Healthcare Hygiene Magazine, and ISSA’s own publications, where she writes about environmental services’ role in infection prevention, biofilm management, and aligning EVS strategy with healthcare goals.

Dr. Gavin Macgregor-Skinner—ISSA Making Safer Choices
Dr. Gavin Macgregor-Skinner, BVSc, MSc, MPH, CFO, CBFRS, MRCVS, Certified Forensic Operator®️, Certified Bio-Forensic Restoration Specialist®️, Associate Professor, Penn State College of Medicine, has more than 30 years of technical experience in responding to infectious disease outbreaks and emergency management. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Penn State College of Medicine and teaches three 15-week graduate courses on Public Health Preparedness for Disasters and Terrorist Emergencies. In 2014 he received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in teaching. He has appeared on CNN, Fox News, BBC, Canada CTV, Australia ABC, C-SPAN, and other news outlets to share his expertise on High Consequence Pathogens such as Coronavirus, Ebola, Influenza, Measles, Cholera, Zika and other global health threats. He served 12-years as an Officer in the Australian and British militaries and was an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the U.S. CDC in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Global Health Fellow with the United States Agency for International Development in Washington DC.
Marilyn Clifton—Director of Environmental Services, Dietary & Nutrition
Marilyn Clifton is a seasoned healthcare operations leader with over 25 years of experience specializing in Environmental Services (EVS), with cross-functional oversight on dietary and nutritional services. She holds the Master of Environmental Services Certified Executive (MESCE) credential and is recognized for her leadership in creating safe, sustainable, and patient-focused environments across complex healthcare settings.
In her leadership roles, Marilyn has provided strategic and operational oversight for EVS and dietary services, guiding teams in the development and execution of comprehensive environmental programs that support organizational sustainability goals, regulatory compliance, and high standards of patient care. She is experienced in aligning environmental operations with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality initiatives while ensuring consistent service delivery across diverse care environments.
Marilyn's leadership expertise includes environmental performance assessments, data-driven decision-making, and transparent reporting to executive leadership, frontline staff, clients, and regulatory agencies. She is known for establishing clear performance expectations, implementing accountability frameworks, and using metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Testing and Validation Work Group—Chair Barbara Strain
This task force creates the standard test methods for validation of surface disinfection compatibility. The ISSA Healthcare Surfaces Institute currently holds a patent for one test method for testing raw materials.
Education and Workforce Development—Chairs Iris Lubar, Barbara Strain
This task force will focus on understanding the key challenges and inconsistencies that hinder effective cleaning and disinfection practices. Acknowledging that consistent training and workforce development are essential, the group will go beyond foundational issues to create practical tools and targeted training and rewards for proven competencies. Their goal is to close knowledge gaps, and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration to promote a shared understanding of each team member’s role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment.
Instructions for Use (IFU/DFU)—Chairs Joanna Mills, Nancy Schlossberg
This task force will work to establish a standard process to transform Instructions/Directions for Use into clear, user-friendly tools that enhance safety compliance and efficiency across healthcare. This group conducts research surveys and launches case studies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Communication
The Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Communication Task Force is dedicated to strengthening collaboration within healthcare teams and across healthcare facilities, with a primary focus on improving patient safety. By fostering open communication and coordinated efforts, the task force aims to support meaningful and lasting improvements in healthcare environmental hygiene. Using structured cohort groups, members work together to identify challenges, share best practices, and implement effective changes that enhance teamwork and overall healthcare outcomes.
Solutions and Innovations—Chair Richard Feczko
This initiative evaluates healthcare innovations that enhance the patient experience while promoting a clean, safe, and sustainable environment. They are collaborating with the Testing and Validation Task Force to develop a standardized assessment process. This process enables innovations to be reviewed for practical adoption, efficiency, compliance, and safety to support evidence-based practices and reduce healthcare-associated infections.
Standardization Protocol Validation Interpretation (Regulations Guidelines)
To reduce HAIs, this task force will create a standard to increase the effectiveness of cleaning and disinfection processes. It will create best practice guidelines, review existing tool kits for best practices, and determine ways to validate clean.
Sustainability
This Task Force will evaluate and advance sustainable practices in healthcare by focusing on the economic, environmental, and operational impacts of materials and chemicals. Key initiatives include assessing market elasticity and ROI for sustainable chemicals, promoting reusable and recyclable materials, and balancing cost, efficacy, and safety. The group will develop lifecycle analyses (LCAs), certification programs, and metrics to guide sustainability efforts. It will also explore operational innovations such as on-site chemical generation and reduced packaging while leveraging technology to proactively manage risk. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, the Task Force will drive measurable, sustainable change across healthcare systems.
