Medline Industries Inc. recently expanded the product testing and development lab at its Mundelein, Illinois, headquarters.

The US$27 million expansion project tripled the size of the facility to 74,000 square feet and enhances the company’s capabilities to test a variety of products, ingredients, and solutions. The Mundelein facility is ISO 17025 certified and routinely audited by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and includes upgraded mechanical systems and environmental controls. The expansion has allowed Mundelein to grow the lab’s staff to more than 140 employees, including engineers, biologists, chemists, formulation scientists, and technicians, with capabilities to test 10,000 to 12,000 samples a month.
