Ecolab Finalizes Acquisition of Purolite

Ecolab Inc. has successfully completed its purchase of Purolite, a global provider of high-end ion exchange resins for the separation and purification of solutions.

Ecolab initially announced the all-cash transaction, valued at approximately US$3.7 billion, in October. The deal increases Ecolab’s offerings of purification and separation solutions for critical industrial markets like microelectronics, nuclear power, and food and beverage. Per the purchase terms, Purolite will operate as a separate global business unit and its overall results will be reported within Ecolab’s life sciences division.
