Kimberly-Clark Honored for Decarbonization Initiatives

Kimberly-Clark Corp., parent company of Kimberly-Clark Professional, received the Net-Zero Award at the United Kingdom Paper Industry Gold Awards earlier this month.

The inaugural awards program was organized by the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) in partnership with the Paper Gold Medal Association to recognize the achievements of organizations and individuals in the United Kingdom’s paper industry. Kimberly-Clark was honored for its net-zero strategy to reduce carbon emissions in the company’s operations in the United Kingdom and internationally. The company is targeting a carbon emissions reduction of 76% in the region across scope 1 and 2 by March 2023.

“We’re very proud to win the Net-Zero Award,” said Oriol Margo, Kimberly-Clark sustainability transformation leader for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “We know that we’re only at the start of this journey, but we’re pleased with the progress that we’ve made so far, and it’s rewarding to be recognized for the effort that the whole company has made.”
