Brown Is the New Green

January 27, 2012 — More companies are switching from white to brown paper products as part of their efforts to show environmental friendliness, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Retailers such as Target and Dunkin’ Donuts have switched from white to brown napkins to signal their environmental efforts to customers. Consumers have been found to prefer brown paper products as they perceive the paper to be made with recycled materials without potentially harmful whitening chemicals.
