Janitorial Workers March in Los Angeles

April 26, 2012 — Hundreds of Service Employees International Union-member janitors marched through the Los Angeles, CA, neighborhood of Century City yesterday, reports Annenberg TV News.

Organizers said the goal of the march was to demand higher wages and health care benefits for janitorial workers. The union’s current agreement with the state of California is scheduled to expire April 30. Union representatives say they will strike if an agreement cannot be met by May 1.
