February 8, 2021 3M Kicks Off 2021 Young Scientist Challenge

3M, in partnership with Discovery Education, has launched the 2021 Young Scientist Challenge.

Now in its 14th year, the contest calls for students in grades 5-8 to submit a video demonstrating an innovation that could provide a solution to an everyday problem. A panel of judges will select 10 finalists in June. The finalists will receive US$1,000 and a trip to 3M’s Innovation Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, to participate in a mentorship program with the company’s scientists.

The winning student will be announced in October and will be crowned “America’s Top Young Scientist” and receive the $25,000 grand prize.
