January 24, 2024 3M Reports $8B in 4th-Quarter Sales

3M has reported fiscal-fourth-quarter sales of US$8 billion, a slight decline of 0.8% from one year ago.

Sales in the company’s health care division decreased 0.3% to $2.03 billion and its consumer division saw a 1.6% decrease in sales to $1.24 billion. 3M’s safety and industrial division reported sales of $2.66 billion, a dip of 2.7%, while sales in the company’s transportation and electronics division increased 1.6% to $2.08 billion.

“The fourth quarter capped a strong year for 3M,” said Mike Roman, 3M CEO. “Throughout 2023, we executed our priorities and delivered on our commitments—including expanding underlying operating margins and cash flow. We initiated actions to restructure our organization and simplify our supply chain, while progressing our health care spin and addressing legal matters.”
