AHE and Essity Honor Top EVS Departments

The Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) has announced the recipients of the 2021 Environmental Services (EVS) Department of the Year Award.

The annual award, sponsored by Tork, an Essity brand, recognizes the significant contributions made by an EVS department to the overall patient experience and achieving a health care organization’s mission. It honors EVS departments for maintaining high levels of performance in cleaning, disinfecting, infection prevention, environmental sustainability, patient satisfaction, education, and training.

Geisinger Community Medical Center in Pittson, Pennsylvania, was named the winner in the 250-499 bed category while Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital/Cottage Health in Santa Barbara, California, took home the award in the 500+ beds category.

Both award recipients will be recognized during a ceremony hosted at the AHE Health Care Leadership and Preparedness Symposium, October 31-November 3, in Orlando, Florida.
