Brain Corp. and Tennant Team to Provide Sam’s Club With Robotic Scrubbers

October 26, 2020

Sam’s Club is partnering with Brain Corp., an artificial intelligence company, to put 372 autonomous floor scrubbers manufactured by Tennant Co., at its U.S. stores this fall, CNN reports.

The autonomous robots Sam’s Club will deploy are known for their “ease of use” and do not require any expensive custom engineering. Facilities can easily adjust the robots to meet changing operational requirements, such as different store layouts, without additional technical support, according to a Brain Corp. press release.

Sam’s Club owner, Walmart Inc., announced last year that by February 2021 1,860 of its more than 4,700 U.S. stores will have autonomous floor scrubbers. Company officials say the autonomous equipment helps free up employees to do other tasks, such as help customers, instead of mopping floors.
