Charges Filed in Michigan Legionnaires’ Outbreak

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed involuntary manslaughter charges against five health department officials.

The indicted officials are accused of failing to alert citizens of a 2014-15 outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in the Flint, MI, area. An investigation by the attorney general has linked more than 70 cases of the disease to the outbreak, including 12 fatalities, CNN reports
