Columbus Commits to Citywide GBAC® STAR Accreditation

May 28, 2020 Columbus Commits to Citywide GBAC® STAR Accreditation

Experience Columbus, the convention and visitors bureau for Columbus, Ohio, has announced plans to assist its partners with achieving GBAC® STAR accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC), a division of ISSA.

Experience Columbus will lead a collaborative, citywide effort toward GBAC® STAR accreditation. Currently, at least one partner in each of the organization’s industry sectors—event venues, transportation, lodging, and attractions—has committed to the GBAC® STAR program. In addition, Columbus’ public bus system has announced it is perusing GBAC® STAR accreditation, marking the first public transit system in the country to do so.

“Our city has already taken great strides toward making residents and visitors feel safe in this new era,” said Brian Ross, president and CEO of Experience Columbus. “This GBAC accreditation will further prepare us and our partners to welcome more people back into our city.”
