Dow 4th-Quarter Sales Climb 34%

Dow Chemical Co. has reported fourth-quarter net sales of US$14.4 billion, an increase of 34% year over year.
Dow credited the gains to top- and bottom-line growth year-over-year across all of its operating segments. Sales in the company’s packaging and specialty plastics segment jumped 40% from the previous year to $7.2 billion, its industrial intermediates and infrastructure segment increased sales 30% to $4.5 billion, and its performance materials and coatings division experienced a 26% rise to $2.6 billion.
