Ecolab Increases 4th-Quarter Sales 7%

Ecolab Inc. has reported fourth-quarter net sales of US$3.93 billion, an increase of 7% from $3.67 billion a year ago.

Ecolab’s fourth-quarter operating income increased to $590 million, up 48% from $399 million in the same quarter a year earlier. Sales in the company’s global institutional and specialty division jumped 13% to $1.29 billion, while its global industrial division increased sales 3% to $1.87 billion. Ecolab’s global healthcare and life sciences division saw sales dip 1% to $410 million.

“2023 was a phenomenal year for Ecolab, with our team delivering robust sales growth, significant operating margin expansion and very strong growth in adjusted diluted earnings per share,” said Christophe Beck, Ecolab chairman and CEO. “Our team won a significant amount of new business that helped to offset continued soft macro demand, launched a strong pipeline of new breakthrough technologies, drove pricing backed by strong customer value, and further improved our underlying productivity by leveraging our leading digital capabilities.
