Ecolab to Invest $2M in St. Paul’s Downtown

Ecolab Inc. has announced a US$2 million investment by the company and the Ecolab Foundation in a public-private partnership to enhance downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.
The St. Paul-based company’s investment will be used to convert a sidewalk and concrete plaza into a community green space. Most of the 26,000-plus-square-foot area is owned and managed by multiple City of Saint Paul departments, with a small portion designated as Ecolab’s property. The two parties will collaborate to reimagine the property, located near Ecolab’s global headquarters, by planting trees and native landscaping and adding pedestrian benches and other natural features to encourage community gatherings. The project was announced as part of Ecolab’s 100th anniversary celebration and is anticipated to be completed by early next year.
