Earlier this week, Dr. Anthony Fauci, U.S. President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, told The Washington Post that the country has moved out of the “full-blown explosive pandemic phase” with regards to COVID-19.

Dr. Fauci further clarified that coronavirus still posed a major threat, stating “We’re really in a transitional phase, from a deceleration of the numbers into hopefully a more controlled phase and endemicity.”

In the ISSA Cleaning Industry Alert below, Dr. Gavin Macgregor-Skinner, senior director of the Global Biorisk Advisory Council™ (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, defines the differences between pandemic and endemic. He discusses the safety and health initiatives he’s witnessed at various local and international meetings and conventions. Dr. Macgregor-Skinner also breaks down the latest scientific studies from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and The British Medical Journal.
