Georgia-Pacific Honored by American Forest and Paper Association

Georgia-Pacific LLC, parent company of GP PRO, recently received two sustainability awards from the American Forest and Paper Association (AF&PA).

Georgia-Pacific received the 2021 AF&PA Leadership in Sustainability Award for Energy Efficiency/Greenhouse Gas Reduction for its Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® bath tissue. In producing the tissue, the company uses a manufacturing technology that saves 30% more water while using 30% less energy.

Georgia-Pacific also received the 2021 AF&PA Innovation in Sustainability Award for Innovations Across the Recycling Supply Chain. The award recognized GP PRO’s use of recycled fibers in its Dixie® ecosmart® cups as well as the company’s organizational shift to using paper-padded mailers that are curbside recyclable.
