ISSA Increases Cleaning Industry’s Profile at National Legislative Summit

August 22, 2019 ISSA Increases Cleaning Industry’s Profile at National Legislative Summit

Earlier this month, ISSA Director of Government Affairs John Nothdurft and ISSA Marketing & Communications Manager Hannah Oates exhibited at the National Conference of State Legislature’s (NCSL) annual Legislative Summit in Nashville, Tenn.

The three-day event attracted more than 6,000 state legislators, legislative staff, federal officials, associations, and advocacy groups from across the country and world. According to its website, “For more than 40 years, the NCSL Legislative Summit has brought together legislators and staff from both sides of the aisle to tackle and discuss difficult problems and find reasonable solutions.”

Participating at NCSL’s Summit is just one example of ISSA’s expanding government affairs and advocacy efforts on behalf of its members and the cleaning industry. “This event helped us increase awareness among policymakers about the importance of the cleaning industry,” said Nothdurft. “It also signaled to lawmakers that ISSA is committed to working with them on public policy solutions to the most pressing environmental, health, and economic issues facing the country and the cleaning industry.”

Nothdurft and Oates spent time speaking with attendees from around the world about the goals of ISSA, its members, and some of the biggest concerns facing the industry including labor issues, chemical regulations, free trade, and the value of clean.

If you are interested in being the first to hear about pressing legislation, compliance deadlines, advocacy events, training, and more from ISSA then become an advocate for clean today.
