Medline Opens New Distribution Center in Louisiana

Medline Industries Inc. has opened a US$72 million distribution center in Hammond, Louisiana.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified distribution center is the largest medical supply facility in Louisiana. The 650,000-square-foot facility will service Medline customers in Louisiana, Mississippi, and eastern Texas. The distribution center’s ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards and Medline officials.

“This is a tremendous state-of-the-art facility; there’s not one that’s more efficient anywhere, and it’s right here in Louisiana,” said Edwards. “I could not have been more impressed, whenever I’ve toured this facility, to see how efficient it is, and the scale in which it’s going to be able to provide hospitals, nursing homes, and other providers with the things they need to deliver high-quality care. When you look at all the multipliers, the economic multipliers, this is a tremendous win for our state and for this community.”
