Mold Contamination Sparks Bottled Water Recall

December 6, 2017

The Kroger Co. has issued a voluntary recall of its Comforts for Baby Purified Water with Fluoride Added due to the risk of mold contamination.

The grocery retailer issued the recall after customer complaints initiated testing which revealed the presence of Talaromyces penicillium mold in the water. Kroger is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to determine the source of the contamination and has temporarily removed the product from its stores nationwide, CNN reports.
