OSHA Fines Florida Landscaping Firm

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Olin Landscaping for multiple safety violations for repeatedly exposing workers to excessive heat.

The Venice, FL, landscaping company faces more than US$16,000 in fines for exposing employees to outdoor heat hazards, failing to protect employees from heat-related illnesses and injuries, and failing to report the workplace fatality to OSHA within 8 hours. An Olin Landscaping employee passed away while performing lawn maintenance last August in temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
