P&G Increases 4th-Quarter Sales Increase 4%

Procter & Gamble (P&G), parent company of Procter & Gamble Professionalhas reported a fiscal-fourth-quarter revenue of US$17.1 billion, an increase of 4% from a year earlier.

The company posted a fiscal fourth-quarter net loss of $5.24 billion, or $2.12 per share, compared with a profit of $1.89 billion, or $0.72 cents per share a year earlier. The decline was attributed to a one-time $8 billion noncash write down of its Gillette brand. Organic sales for P&G’s health care division were up 10%, while sales in its beauty segment increased 8%
