Pilot Chemical Opens New Microbiology Lab

Pilot Chemical Co. has opened a new microbiology lab in the company’s Sharonville, Ohio, technology center.

The suburban Cincinnati facility will allow Pilot Chemical to develop new biocidal products and compliments the company’s innovation center, which opened in 2018 in Pittsburgh. Sarah Hale, who recently joined Pilot Chemical as a microbiologist, will oversee operations and product testing at the Sharonville lab.

“In the last three years, we have invested more than US$4 million into the Sharonville technology center, which adds to our testing and application capabilities,” said John Manka, Ph.D., Pilot Chemical director of research and development. “We’ve also increased our staff by 30%. We continue to invest in our employees and our research and development capabilities to position ourselves for growth.”
