SC Johnson Donates $US1.5M to Malaria Eradication

April 20, 2023

SC Johnson, parent company of SC Johnson Professional, recently announced a US$1.5 million donation to the government of Tanzania in an effort to eradicate malaria.

The Tanzanian government will use the contribution to fund malaria prevention education programming in the country and to distribute mosquito repellants through public health channels. SC Johnson’s donation will also be used to support construction of new community health clinics in the country’s rural areas. SC Johnson will also provide additional insect repellants to Tanzania’s at-risk regions at no additional cost.

“President Samia Suluhu Hassan and the Government of Tanzania are making important progress, and we are delighted to work with them in our shared mission to eradicate malaria. Together, we can generate an even greater impact by helping more families access resources and knowledge to protect themselves from this preventable and treatable disease. I am hopeful that through this next phase of our partnership, we are one step closer to helping the people of Tanzania escape the threat of malaria and its devastating impacts for families.” said Fisk Johnson, SC Johnson chairman and CEO.
